The hunter doesn't kill the fox in this one...

The Hunter and Little Fox

It sounds like a children's book?

Was the first remark I got, but no, it is two adults who have a life changing evening...and no, it might be an erotic romance, but it has a strong theme, with the romance being more honest, in my opinion, with the erotic elements.

Apart from my book being dedicated to the Canis genus members, it has an important theme about personal growth and letting go of things that hold you back (a recurring theme in all my works it seems).

So why read about well built male specimens fighting?

Why the hell not? Not only is it hot, but as a long time MMA fan, I've always loved how MMA (the real stuff), can go either way. But, the true inspiration for the book came to me when I watched Warrior (2011).

My change though, came when I thought the supporting wife, rather being the sister of one of the fighters, would be an interesting twist. This conflict in who she should support (her brother or the man she is in love with) felt like a nice little hook that brought a forbidden love subject in.

But.

That is where it stops - apart from a tiny similarity in the ending.

For a few years I had the first chapters written and left it, until last year (2014) when I played around with it and finished the story this year. I did numerous searches on actual fights, how the moves were best executed (even tried a few) and worked hard in making the fight scenes readable, to even a person who has no idea what a fight looks like.

Going about to create The Hunter and the Foxes...

Charlie 'Sly Fox' Bischoff is just an all round bad guy and Maya 'Little Fox' Bischoff tries her best to avoid this about her brother. Until she meets Trevor 'The Hunter' Dale, who in a way shows her, she is worthy of more.

To take the fairy out of fairytale; Charlie and Maya come from a bad past, as their mother was a whore and Charlie was an underground fighter, before making it big.

Which is Trevor's opposite, as he came from a perfect family, had the best education and always got what he wanted.

Now, before the obvious, 'that has been done' is said; the book starts with Trevor having all he wants, but in the end it is clear that the things we need most aren't as easy to get or keep. This is made more obvious as the book starts off in Las Vegas, where excess and glamour shrouds truths, but we end up in a small town in South Africa, where happiness has to be found in what you make of your situation.

But that is all I will say, before I go and spoil it all.

If this has you wanting to learn more about the book, I have provided a few links that should come in handy, in convincing you that The Hunter and Little Fox is not your average fighter erotic romance.
